How the Story Begins
Usazo sells daikon in Rabbit Village and lives quietly with his family. One day, to protect his family and his village, he finds himself claiming to be a samurai — and a tragicomedy born of a lie begins to move. The story unfolds in the gap between what he wants to protect and what he pretends to be.
The World
The stage is a Japanese-style world inhabited only by animals: a village of powerless rabbits and a village of powerful dogs. The tension between species is drawn in the quiet strokes of black-and-white, indigo-printed manga.
